Running head: Urban Community Colleges

Urban Community Colleges

Abstract

Urban Community Colleges are a relatively new phenomenon in the educational community. Though they are often criticized for the students they serve and the way they choose to serve them, these institutions are proving to be effective forms of education in areas in desperate need of support. This is a review if available literature on the topic of urban community colleges, the students they serve, and the practices in place and those put into place by these new, but already evolving institutions of education.
