Even though the No Child Left Behind Act provides funding for special programs, the act failed to benefit the children because the testing requirements are not allowing students to benefit fully, funding is not being implemented properly, and students are still struggling with learning and not meeting the testing requirements.

allowing students to benefit fully.
A. Supportive Evidence
In a national survey, 40 percent of all teachers “reported that they had found ways to raise state test scores without really improving learning” (Abrams, 2004).
B. Explanation
Teachers are expressing their views on the testing requirements of the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act. All their teaching is focused on being able to meet and exceed the state testing scores instead of the quality of learning. Students are not learning any skills or knowledge that can be used in their other tasks. Non-tested subjects like science and social studies are being cut back due to reallocation of instructional time to focus more on the tested subjects.
C. So What?
Cutting back on the non-tested subjects and focusing on test preparation are not letting the children to benefit fully from learning. The NCLB has taken away the much-needed learning to prepare them for the working world.
