“you wont need it we're just going to court, seriously Daniel what is your problem lately..?”.
I shouldn’t have said that, Daniel gets so uptight about the government its like he wants to be the minister.
“hey runt I'm going to court for you when your superiors aer making a speech don't speak up in your own word'
“if it's my fault why are you going!” I was getting mad at Daniel, I hated being treated like a kid by him what I'm i saying i still do!
“because I'm supposed to take care of you you're only sixteen”
“Daniel I'm old enough to get married and to own an estate” every since the prewar and dark revolution you have to be sixteen to get married in school they told us we had to be eighteen but now being eightteen you have to be married or own a house.
“That doesn't mean you can handle your self Mae just go get on a nice white shirt”
I got so ticked off at him its just he wont allow me to grow up.
I got on my white shirt and stormed down stairs. As soon as i set foot in the living room Daniel rushed over to me and washed my face gave me a breath mint and we got in the car. Not saying a word my brother turned off the radio and sat there in silence it took him a few minutes to say some thing.
“Are you nervous”
“of course I am but I mean jail is a lot better than this hell-hole”
“Mae watch your mouth”
“oh please Daniel when mom and dad were here you used to say things much worse than that”.
Daniel got silent after that, he was sensitive about our parents he almost beat some one to death just for talking smack about our mom. We finally arrived at the court, Daniel hadn't said anything to me the whole time he had to forgive me sooner or later. Daniel grabbed my hand and whispered under his breath so no one could hear him but me “you need to come up with a story and fast because they aren't gonna' give you time to lie”
