The importance of being on time and physically fit go hand and hand in the military. It means that you are able to do your job and you are there to get it done on time. Time management is important for the military because we need it for organization and a time table to get projects done. As a mechanic we are given tasks that need to be done by a certain time so that the helicopter can get out of the hangar and get its mission done. Also you need to be physically fit to climb on the helicopter and to exchange parts out. So if you are not fit you may not be able to get on top of the helicopter and carry off the hydraulic pump and you are late to work that day it may affect when the task is to be completed and also for you to go home on time. To be an effective soldier in the military you need to be both physically fit and on time. Being on time is everything in the military. The consequences of being chronically late run deeper than many people realize, according to psychologist Linda Sapadin, PhD, author of Master Your Fears. "You're creating a reputation for yourself, and it's not the best reputation to be establishing. People feel they can't trust you or rely on you, so it impacts relationships. It also impacts self-esteem.” A great way to be on time is to have time management skills.
