Food Problems
In Wendell Berry’s “The Pleasure of Eating” he analyzes farming and rural life affecting the farming. In Michael Pollan’s “when a crop becomes king” the main idea is corn being the main crop used for everything and if it’s really healthy. The point being analyzed in “If you pitch it they will eat it” is advertising food to young audiences because they are the most vulnerable. I agree with Michael Pollan because corn is used in many products but really isn’t healthy for us. I want to see food being made more naturally and therefore being healthier by the government helping them.
The government can help make people by stopping the advertisements. David Barboza in the article “If you pitch it they will eat it” states “It’s nickelodeon movies, video games , the internet, and even marketing in schools.” This shows how the ads target young children in shows and schools. Advertisements are about junk and never about fruits or vegetables. The government should also consider taking some factories down in favor of farms.
The government should have fewer factories and more natural food farms. Wendell Barry in the article “The Pleasure of Eating” states “Most urban shoppers would tell you that food is produced on farms.” This shows the knowledge people have on where their food is coming from. People should be more interested in what they are eating. The food we eat is processed in factories and unhealthy because of everything they put in it. We should have more farms with healthier food than factories unsanitary food. The government needs to make a plan to have more farms.
