Dear the girl with sunshine in her hair,

I have admired you since the first day I laid eyes upon thee. Never in my wildest fantasies did I think that I could muster the courage to speak with you and even less have you fall in love with me. You are sleeping now my baby and I hope your dreams are pleasant ones. Time is a precious thing and I admit that I have wasted most of it. Truthfully though my kitty I don’t want to be in this life without you by my side I love you and want you to be my wife, again. Until then though beautiful don’t dwell on the hurtful past even if that means you have to push me away for awhile. I will undergo anything to become every bit of the man you deserve. And more so I shall overcome any ordeal to be the father Jude needs and I always wanted.
I thank you for your love, thank you for your smile, thank you for my son, thank you for being so caring, thank you for waking up each day, thank you for the days spent together, thank you for being there, thank you for giving a damn, thank you for your compassion, thank you for your strength, thank you for your small Chinese feet, thank you for the way you say “whatcha call it”, thank you for your laugh, thank you for making me stronger, thank you for everything that went unnoticed.

Almost Angelic

She lives in another world, and I watch her as she fly’s. Wings of golden light lift her up into the sky. There are two of them now smiling with such an illustrious sheen. I keep my distance and watch them so that I may stay on this heavenly plateau I have wandered upon. The smoke clears, the sun shines, the climate cools and it becomes clear to me that this life could be splendid after all. Humiliated I hide my face but my eyes follow them wherever they appear. Before me they look almost angelic because nothing is perfect but that just cannot be so. The earth trembles beneath me until I realize my knees are shaking and I have to sit for awhile and think. Under the shade of a twisted tree...
