Fragment Thoughts on Current Education in China
My opinion is that education in china is and has been facing a great challenge. Compared with those advanced education systems, the problem of Chinese education is obvious. Now, steering the education system to an ability-oriented and qualitative-oriented training for students should be in the first priority. Illogical education methods like sheer pursuit for students' high score and overdriven emphasis on quantitive work should be entirely and permanently rooted out from our current education system.
To begin with, our current education concepts only focus on the result but not the procedure of learning; only the quantitve work but not the qualitative ones. As to my peers and I, we all study for scores from primary school to college. Second, diploma seems to be the only measurement of our ability; we can't obtain a good job without a plenteous diploma, say noting to get promoted. Under such a sordid atmosphere, we do not even get the chance to do things we are really interested in, and, to do those things that we really wanted to seems even more out of the question, let alone benefiting our country.
Regarding to these problems and malfunctions in current Chinese education, the reform is urgently called for and should be focusing on two basic aspects: firstly, schools need to pay more attention to the qualitative work and try their best to improve the integrated abilities of students; secondly, the government should help the whole society revive the traditional view of human resources and also slam the door to those scum values as overweighing the diploma but overlooking the real abilities in students.
In summary, we should straightly face up the problems existing in our current education system and analyze them in a regular basis so as to expedite the process of the development of education in China.
