Frankenstein’s Horror
Dr. Frankenstein completely buries himself in his own devious thoughts to create new life, even when his professors and friends beg him to stop he continues. The creature, on the other hand, is a natural born abomination but he only wants happiness and peace in his twisted resentful life. Is the book actually correct, is Frankenstein creature actually a monster?

An Interest Grows

ictor Frankenstein was born in Naples to parents, Alphonse Frankenstein and Caroline Beaufort. He was raised in Geneva with his adopted sister, Elizabeth, and his much younger brother, William. Although Elizabeth was not a blood relative with Victor, he gave Elizabeth all his love and caring as if they shared a very close bond. “Everyone loved Elizabeth. The passionate and almost reverential attachment with which all regarded her became, while I shared it, my pride and my delight.” Victor was best friends with Henry Clerval, his classmate, as well and their friendship flourished throughout the years. He grew up in a close domestic circle and was surrounded by family, friends, and love. He believed that, “No human being could have passed a happier childhood than [himself].”

s a teenager, Victor became fascinated with “the secret of life”. After studying the alchemy and the relics of science, he became even further captivated with the ideas of life and death. This idea of the unknown, as it is to many people, was extremely intriguing to Victor and sparked his interests science. “It was the secrets of heaven and earth that [he] desired to learn; and whether it was the outward substance of things or the inner spirit of nature and the mysterious soul of man that occupied [him], still [his] inquiries were directed to the metaphysical, or in its highest sense, the physical secrets of the world."
