Francesca is an 16 year old Italian girl, living in the border of Sydney, whilst starting a school that has just begun to accept girls. During her time at this school she is faced with many adversities. She is forced to chage her view on her self, her family and her true friends.
At the school she befriends her ex bestfriend and rekindles there relationship.
She also befriends a year 12 boy Will who she becomes involved with.
At first her mum becomes ill and she blames it on her father, until she finds out that the reason her mum is depressed was because she had a misscariage.

A major cataylst of change for frankie was when she ran away on the train and ended up at Woy Woy, her father comes to save her and realises that he never did anything wrong.
