Dell. Dell computer Support is 24 hours. Due to Dell’s 24 hour support it has outsourced it technical support service to Bangalore, India (Frauenheim, 2003). Dell has had its share of problems with thick accents and scripted responses from India technical support. In 2003 Dell was forced to redirect corporate technical calls to stateside techs (CNN, 2003). Dell maintained the call center in India for their non-corporate customers. Dell, like many U.S. companies also benefits from paying low wages to their foreign employees. American companies are increasing revenue by outsourcing to developing companies that can afford to accept smaller wages. With growth of outsourcing more Americans each day find themselves without a job. In chapter 4: Workplace emotions and Attitudes it describes how employees were affected by layoffs and cutbacks. The chapter explained that good human resource personnel should try maintaining a fairly high level of morale. This attitude will be needed to assist employees in the company’s transition. Without outsourcing some companies would fail. Some companies are striving to increase revenue to impress shareholders. One can clearly see that outsourcing has become a big part of the future for American companies.
