Introduction
Companies are facing a highly competitive business market these days were constantly need to adapt their strategies and be more and more flexible to customer demands in all senses. Friar Truck International (FTI) is a hospitality chain that employs 1,200 employees and has annual revenues in excess of $300 million. FTI is going through a challenging transition spurred by the rapidly changing face of the business world.
Development of a project implementation plan is one of the most crucial steps in the process to success in any business and for FTI is not an exception. Companies need to be very selective in their projects and be sure that all of them are aligned to company vision and objectives at short, medium and long term. A good communication plan and a collaborative team in place are required since the conceptual phase of the projects to minimize all possible risks involved into those projects. This paper will show a study of 10 companies and their strategic implementation and alignment of their core competencies. The document covers an overview of FTI, problem definition, benchmarked companies, possible solutions and synopses of the analysis and learning’s from those companies.

The leadership team of FTI clearly realizes what the firm must do to stay on the cutting edge in the very competitive Hospitality, Cuisine and Entertainment arena. The projects the firm takes on must be lined up with their prevailing trends in the market which is geared towards helping various firms professionally serve their clients in the abovementioned industry areas. FTI has decided to benchmark other firms to help direct its ongoing progress.
