I can remember the warm summer night like it was yesterday when I met my wife. At that time I had no idea that I would be dating her and eventually marrying her. I had just finished pumping my gas when I noticed her over at another pump. I will admit that I was starring at her because she was attractive. So as I was getting ready to leave, when she walked over and sarcastically said “can I help you” because I may have been starring a little too much. Even after her comment I still ended up talking to her and we exchanged phone numbers. She explained to me that she was on her way out of town and that maybe we could hook up some other time.

In the beginning months of our relationship was not real serious, but things lead to to dinner and then to a movie. I believed the date had gone real well. From then on we started going out more often. At first our relationship was pretty much just friends with benefits. I was fine with the relationship not getting to serious yet and she was to. another. I decided that I wanted more and so did she. So our relationship became more serious than it had been. Finally it got to the point where I asked her to marry me. Both of us decided it was time. So we decided to start marriage counseling with our pastor.
I thought it was a good idea to go through marriage counseling since there was a lot of first for us. Well I have no children of my own and she has children, also it was the first time she had dated outside of her race. I also believed since it was the first time for either of us to ever be married, I thought it was in our best interest to go through the counseling.
It will be four years this October that I have been married to my lovely wife and I could not be happier. As all married couples we have our ups and downs but for the most part all is good. In no ways do I regret getting married because marriage has made me grow up. Before...
