Thesis Statement:

To persuade the audience about how gambling can be addicted and can have a bad or harmful effects to your life, families, works and relationships to all the people around you, making them a thread with the environment, and should be prevented.
Introduction:
Gambling addition, also known as compulsive gambling, has become a big issue in today’s society. It can vary from making a simple bet of a dollar with a friend to going to the casinos and putting hundreds to thousands of dollars into the machines to play “games”. While most people are at it for fun, there are people that do it because they think they need to (problem gambling). These people will do anything they can in order to gamble, which can lead to negative consequences for him/herself and the community. As of now, there are only two states that do not allow any type of gambling. This is a tremendous increase even over the past decade. There are ways to help these problem gamblers, and prevent others from having this problem.

Firstly, gambling has many negative side effects, such as becoming broke and doing anything to get money, which can completely change a person. A definition of gambling retrieved from dictionary.com is: “ the activity or practice of playing at a game of chance for money or other stakes”, or “ the act or practice of risking the loss of something important by taking a chance or acting recklessly” . Compulsive gambling basically just means to do this in excess due to obsession. Some symptoms of gambling include: committing crimes in order to obtain money, feeling irritable when trying to lay off or stop, and gambling in order to cover up sadness and other...
