The Myth of Gender Equality
The word gender refers to the socio-cultural characterization of man and woman, the way societies make a difference between men and women and assign them social roles. The difference between sex and gender was brought up to deal with the general tendency to attribute women's inferiority to their structure. For as far as history goes it was believed that the different characteristics, roles and status accorded to women and men in society are determined by sex, that they are natural and at all not changeable.
The Creature
In the book Frankenstein by Mary Shelley, I do not know what I would declare the creature. The creature is made of other humans body parts, was accused of murder, and yet he has feelings. The creature is pretty confusing because it can be both a monster and a human because of certain reasons. I am indecisive of what I think the creature is.
The creature is made of other humans body parts. When the creature was being created, Victor envisioned on creating a new race of a wonderful being. Victor’s thoughts when he was creating the creature was that it would be harmless. He did not think that it would turn out to be the complete opposite.
The creature Victor created was thought to be the murder of his little brother William. When Victor was going to the spot where his brother was murdered he spotted the creature lurking around the area. Then at the moment he was convinced that it was the creature who murdered his brother.
The creature does to have feelings and is not only a monster from what Victor thinks. Victor saw the creature at the top of a glacier. As the creature was approaching him he thought that was going to attack him so he tryst to threaten the creature to leave him alone. The creature did not want to attack him, he simply wanted to invite him to sit in a cave near a fire. The creature was expressing his confusion upon being created.
