INTRODUCTION
RESEARCHING ONLINE AND USING AXIA LIBRARY
Personally when researching information on the internet, I would proceed with caution. The internet has various resources to access almost any topic. When researching on the internet the information posted is usually fairly recent. So, if the topic that I was researching is the Civil War, well I would go to the library. I would ask the librarian for assistance because there have been many books written on both general and specific parts of the Civil War. Of course, I would research the internet because there may also be something posted recently on the Civil War, that I was unable to find in the library. So overall, I would look to the internet secondary on a topic like the Civil War. When researching Depression of course I would look to the internet first. Medicine is constantly changing. There are new cures, new diagnosis, new medicine to treat the illness; new information is constantly being updated to keep the patient aware of the illness. I would not go the library for information concerning Depression, because the material that was printed ten years ago or even a year ago maybe outdated. There is a possibility that I am reading material that does not apply to Depression anymore, and this would not assist me at all. Using the internet is just as important and useful as researching in a library. Always look to both the internet and library for all available information.
USING TECHNOLOGICAL TOOLS I think that the technological tools provided by Axia College are a positive tool. There are many different ways to learn material. Some people learn by hands on, others visually, and a few are able to memorize information. By being able to either open the material or download and print when necessary is great for one who learns either by hands on or visual.
