Genetics Writing Assignment

The difference between identical and fraternal twins is that when identical twins are made the egg is fertilized by the sperm and the egg splits in half. Fraternal twins happen when there are two eggs and they are both fertilized. Sharon and Susan are identical twins.
Sharon and Susan inherited some of the same traits and some different ones. The traits that they have in common are their blue eyes, blonde hair, height, and cleverness. There are also traits that they don’t share. One likes the outdoors and one likes the indoors. One likes her hair short and one likes hers long.
Sharon and Susan have some of the same dominant genes as their parents like blonde hair and blue eyes. My parents also passed on dominant genes to me for brown eyes and brown hair. I have freckles like my mom, and thin hair like my dad. I also have dyslexia like my dad which may be genetic. I don’t have any traits that I share only with by grandparents.
If I had a twin, I would be an identical twin. It would be cool to have a brother who looks just like me. The traits that I would share are height, eye color, hair color and what foods we like. I would not want him to like the same clothes, though. If we were in the same situation as Sharon and Susan, I would be happy. It would be great to figure out that I had a twin who is almost exactly like me. If I switched identities with my twin, my parents would be ok with it because they would be happy that we met each other.
