Getting Ahead

Being successful means thriving in personal goals, not society’s. Garbage men work very hard, yet are they seen as successful people in life? Look at trust fund children who probably have never had to work a day in their life but still are seen a successful. Staying a step ahead takes a mix of working hard, accomplishing own goals, and having right opportunities.
Being successful in today’s society is a hard task to come by when the economy being the lowest in years. So having a good education and getting a four year degree is the best way of avoiding being unsuccessful. It’s the top way to stay ahead. If something goes wrong with a current job of someone with a college degree. He or she is intelligent enough to get back on their feet and get a new good paying job. Working fifty hours a week with no education doesn’t pay off in society’s way. But someone could reach their own personal goal in that way. Working many hours as a CEO or manager with many years of education under the belt pays off immensely. But that person may be unhappy because he or she doesn’t have a family. My dad would always tell me that education is the key to success.
By staying successful in one’s own goals means family and friends need to be there for support through rough times. When I thought about dropping out of high school, right away family and friends were there to get me up back on my feet. They help keep goals in order and get them done on time. From personal experience I know that my family loves me and would do anything to help me stay ahead in life.
The only way to accomplish goals is to not worry about the general public and focus on the task at hand. Society doesn’t choose whether or not someone gets a promotion, only he or she can decide if they want to work for it or not.
