Have you ever been making cookies and got a taste of the raw cookie dough? Okay, I admit, I have too, I’m sure we all have before. If so, you have violated a BIG kitchen safety rule. Whether you realize it or not, there’s a rule for almost everything you do in the kitchen. Kitchen safety is very important while in the kitchen, you should at least be aware of the rules, if you aren’t going to abide by the rules.
There are several Kitchen safety rules; one is keep kids and pets out! Children and pets just don’t belong in the kitchen; there are several things that can go wrong already in the kitchen, meanwhile, you don’t need another distraction. Children don’t really know what they’re doing they can easily pull down a hot pan off of the stove and burn themselves, or even a normal pan that’s not hot and it hit them in the head and hurt them. Pets and children can also trip you because they are smaller and you don’t always see them under you. Being sure to wear safe shoes and clothing are another rule! It is important to not wear sandals or slick shoes while in the kitchen you are liable to slip and fall! That wouldn’t be too good; you could spill something hot on you and get burnt! Wear close toed shoes, you should drop a knife, or a greasy spatula on your feet. Wear appropriate clothes for the kitchen, you shouldn’t have on a shirt with long hanging sleeves on that may get in the food. Don’t rush around in the kitchen, it normally guarantees accidents! When you’re in a hurry you’re normally not fully finishing things so therefore you could have uncooked food, spill something, soapy dishes, there’s lots of consequences for rushing. Always use hot pads! You may think, “I’ve got this” but no; I’ve been burnt too many times. There special, use them! Another, Always stir away from yourself! You can easily being stirring something and it splash onto you, and burn you. I’d rather be safe than sorry!...
