Work of art or vandalism
What is art? Is it a painting of scenery, a sketch of bowl with fruit is it, a drawing of a face in a sketch book, or even a picture on the side of the building? Art can mean many things to all people such as graffiti. Some one could say that it is art and some say its vandalism or you have those few that say its all gang related. To me graffiti is an art form. It is a way of unprofessional artists who are not in an art gallery to speak out and have a way of expressing themselves. Art comes in many talents some just choose a bigger canvas: such as building, train, and bridges. Graffiti is usually someone who comes in the night with just a couple cans of spray paint draws what they feel and leave.
Graffiti is found all over the place. You can find it in nearly every city you enter or every train and bridge you pass by. Being up on a bridge that is 30-40 feet above the ground with a rope tied around their waste and some spray paint and draw an amazing picture takes a lot of talent, some more than just painting a tree on a canvas. They express how they feel through the words or drawings you see on the bridges. Some are gangs but it still is how they express them-selves in an art form. I look at some of them and think, wow how can someone in the dark, draw something so amazing with just some spray paint.
Although bridges are difficult, trains tend to be a bit harder. First they have to get through the fence and past the cameras to get to a train. I have seen some pretty amazing things on the trains I see. There was one that was a drawing of a forest, and some people who were near me said wow look another vandalized train. All I could think is how can you not respect an art form? Is it because it is not in an art gallery? Trains are a big target for people because they travel throughout the United States, so a
