Day by day the family hopes and prays together. They take each day at a time, not knowing where they are going to stay during the night to come. They only have God and each other to count on. The young children don’t really know what is going on except that they have no place to call home. The single mother or the struggling couple is hoping they will be selected to be the lucky family who Habitat for Humanity chooses to donate its next house to. They have put in many long and hard hours of volunteer work in the past helping with other houses. It was finally their turn! The favor was being returned, and the family was going to have a place they could finally call their own. It would be so fulfilling to see their faces when they are told the news and when they are able to stand back and finally have a house to call their home. These people are not people who are simply lazy and don’t want to work. They are people who are less fortunate or people who are unable to work due to a disability. Habitat for Humanity has done research to make sure the family meets the criteria to receive this generous donation. Their prayers are finally being answered, and there are many people who can’t wait to help make it happen.
Habitat for Humanity is a huge international organization known all over the world and is one that builds houses for less fortunate families that are not able to afford a home on their own. These homes are built thanks to the work of volunteers. Volunteer work is something that is done all over the world, but is not always recognized like it should be. There are all kinds of organizations that do community service and service learning projects. Habitat for Humanity is a non-profitable organization that is mainly staffed by volunteers, and it has stayed successful throughout the years by good Samaritans simply wishing to lend a helping hand. They are a big organization and are steadily growing....
