HAIRBALL (DIFFERENT FINAL)
Kay is at the hospital after her surgery when Ger comes to visit her. She is asleep so she does not notice Ger’s presence. He comes to tell her bad news, bad for her but not at all for him. After waiting for some minutes, as Kat does not wake up, he finally goes away without telling her a word.
The following day Kat is better so she decides to call Ger but she does not receive and answer. Some minutes later, the doctor comes and says that she can go back home. She leaves the hospital and as she did not get an answer from Ger she decides to go to her work.
When she arrives, she sees that Ger’s office is empty and dark. She does not understand what is happening so she drops by it to examine if Ger is somewhere. Ger is not there but she can see on Ger’s desk a letter with her name in the envelope. She catches it and begins to read it. The letter says: “Dear Kat: I have to go. I find a better job so I am leaving. Sorry for not telling you face to face but I went to the hospital yesterday and you were asleep. I think that this is better for you and me. I don’t want to be the man you want me to be and I’m sure you don’t want me to be the man that I used to be. Gerald.”
Kat starts to weep and returns home. She can’t understand why he leaves her and why he does not invite her to go with him.
When she gets back home, she starts to talk with the hairball as she thinks that it is Ger’s and her child. She say things such as, “daddy left us, we are alone now” to the hairball. She spends days doing that without eating or drinking anything. After many days she is finally find and take to the hospital. She is crazy and alone. She is exactly the opposite that she wanted to be, without a job, Gerald and the worst thing without her right senses.
