Hardships

I interviewed Doctor Jassat and after doing the interview I realised that anybody can make difference. Whether you a male or female, Indian, black, coloured or white you can make difference.

Everyone that was involved in making South Africa a better place, did make a difference even if it was in the most slightest way. If it wasn’t for the apartheid activists we wouldn’t have had freedom. Doctor Jassat did a lot towards making South Africa a better place. He had to overcome a lot of hardships in order to achieve what he did. He struggled a lot and he sacrificed a lot of his time for the country. Doctor Jassat is one of many people who were apartheid activists, there were a lot of other Indians, blacks and coloureds that contributed towards changing the apartheid system and we thank them for that. He went through a lot of hardships and a lot of struggles which made him brave. A person has to be brave to overcome such difficulties. We, the people that didn’t do anything towards acting against the apartheid system, we shouldn’t take for granted what the people had done for us in the past. It is because of them that we can go to any school, practice whatever religion we want to and we free to do what we want to do. If it wasn’t for them we would still be suffering.

There were a lot of hardships that people had to overcome, for example, many people lost their family members, they lost their homes, their friends and a lot of other stuff that meant something to them. Many people also gave up there lives, they risked their lives so that we could have a free country to live in. Lots of people were killed during the riots many innocent children were killed.

After interviewing Doctor Jassat I have become more aware...
