Before MAO Report “The Significance of the Ch’ing Period in Chinese History”

The Ch’ing Dynasty was the last dynasty in China which is ruled by King. After Ch’ing dynasty, China became a modern country like these days. The changes between Ch’ing dynasty and China were really extensively and various, but still there are many legacies from Ch’ing dynasty in present China. At this point, the author proposed about these legacies and helped readers not only to suggest but also understand. As I am from foreign country, it was really helpful to understand Ch’ing dynasty and China. In Korea, we do dealing with the history of China in history class, but it is to understand the history of Korea with surrounding countries, isn’t dedicated to understanding the history of China itself. But I think it is important to know about Ch’ing dynasty deeper to understand Korea history. I wanted to know more about history of Ch’ing dynasty wide perspective point, and that is the reason why I choose this paper.
The Author, in this research, talked about 6 inherited legacies broad categories from Ch’ing dynasty. And he argued that the general significance of the Ch’ing period is that chronologically it falls between what is traditional and what is modern.
1. Geographically China could never have reached its present dimensions without the laborious, painstaking, and skillful work of empire building carried out by Manchu rulers between 1600 and 1800. 2. modern China has received from the Ch’ing is her large population.
It means, geographically now China is one of the biggest country in world and the population is the largest number. Economically, 21th century, China is growing fast in economics. And now China has become the most influential country. The potential possibility is come from the size, and popularity of Ch’ing dynasty.
