“All men make mistakes, but a good man yields when he knows his course is wrong, and repairs it. The only crime is pride.” The statement above is one hundred percent true. There are amazing people who make terrible mistakes in the world and can man up to them and at least try to fix their mistakes. However, there are a multitude of people out there who will never face their mistakes and will always run from them. This is because it is much easier to run from mistakes than face up to them.
When faced with problems a good man would solve his problems and would even look into helping others with their problems. As opposed to Adolf Hitler, who ran from his problems and will never face them. Upon killing more than ten million people in his reign of terror, he was invaded. Weeks after two of his biggest concentration camps were liberated and with Allies hot on his trail, he committed suicide. Hitler committing suicide does not make him a bad person, the fact that he will never face the problems he left with his country or to the more than eleven million people he effected. Nor will he ever attempt to fix his problems.
Michael Phelps, who holds more than ten medals, has made very few mistakes in the pool, but he made one big mistake outside of the pool. Phelps was caught smoking marijuana on camera shortly after the Olympics. Phelps, being a role model confessed to his mistake saying : “I engaged in behavior which was regrettable and demonstrated bad judgment. I'm 23 years old and despite the successes I've had in the pool, I acted in a youthful and inappropriate way, not in a manner people have come to expect from me. For this, I am sorry. I promise my fans and the public it will not happen again.” Phelps did the harder of the things to do, which is stand up for what is right.
