Love

Love is defined as a strong affection for another arising out of kinship or personal ties; attraction based on sexual desire; affection and tenderness felt by lovers; affection based on admiration, benevolence, or common interest. Love is a strong emotion of regard and affection; an object of warm affection or devotion. “Life has taught us that love does not consist in gazing at each other but in looking outward together in the same direction” (Antoine de Saint-Exuperty, Wind, Sand and Stars, 1939, translated from French by Lewis Galantiere). Love does not hurt physically or emotionally. Love is not manipulative it should not be used to get others to do what you want. Love is an intense feeling of caring for another person. It can take many different forms (romantic, friendly, family, etc.) but it is always about caring.. Love is more than emotions and it is much more than a good feeling It is very easy to confuse lust for love. Thinking of love; we think of the maternal love for a child, love for an old classmate, an assurance of love (giving her/him my love). Sometimes we think of love as that girl or boy that is going to sweep me off my feet, give me the house with the white picket fence, the dog, two children (a boy and a girl), have the ideal professions, and we would live happily ever after. We often sit and look at the love stories on lifetime where the husband has to be strong in the time of helping his children understand their mother has six months to live and he must help them understand this is no reflection on them that she continues to live through them. The story of the soldier going off to war and the girl waits on his promise to come back to his true love. We could go on and on of experiences and views of love.
