How to Bath a Cat

Bathing any type cat can be very difficult, dangerous, and sometimes even make you an emotional wreck if not done without good instruction. Here are a few easy steps for anyone who wants a simplified way of bathing a cat. Please pay very close attention to the instructions so you can fully understand each step. Do not begin the bathing process without being fully comfortable with the instructions. Remember we want to make this as safe and easy as possible.
Begin by removing all items that you don’t want wet or damaged. Grab all the supplies you will need: cat shampoo, towel(s), flea wash, and even possibly a leash or restraint of some sort. If you don’t have a removable shower nozzle you will need a spray nozzle, or hose for rinsing. Make sure you are dressed properly. Strong industrial gloves will work and keep you safe from scratches. As an additional precaution you can also grab some treats or cat nip, to ensure no difficulty getting into the tub or sink.
Now that you have all the items that you will need go ahead and begin to run the water, at a warm temperature. When the tub is about one-third full, and grasps the cat firmly. Hold the cat good distance away with its feet facing away from you. Once you wet the cat thoroughly, rub the cat shampoo into to its fur. After you have washed the cat with the shampoo and rinsed the soap off, apply the flea wash and rinse again.
After you have washed and rinsed the cat, you will now be able to dry it off. Start by draining the tub, to avoid the cat from jumping back in the tub. Continuing with a tight grasp on the cat use a towel to dry it off. To avoid the cat from running away, you may use a leash for a restraint by attaching one end of the leash to your towel rack and the other end to the collar. Begin by using a towel rub it gently to keep from startling it.
