Mission Statement (required)
The mission to spark imagination and inspire discovery and learning for all children through the power of play. The Museum is an open, family-friendly space that features bright, creative and hands-on exhibits designed to spark discovery, creative thinking and artistic expression. Its core competencies for literacy, math and science are promoted throughout all exhibits and programming in alignment with Georgia Performance Standards. As metropolitan Atlanta’s only children’s museum, we serve children and families of the area with programs and exhibits designed for young children under the age of 9 and their adult caregivers, welcoming 1,122,529 visitors to date.
Our three objectives that serve as a framework for all efforts:
1). We will present innovative exhibits and programs that ensure that each visitor experience, for adults and children alike, is both fun and educational; 2) We will serve as a gathering place for the community to speak on important issues relevant to young children and their families; 3) We will strive to remove the barriers that hinder disadvantaged children and families from accessing the Museum – addressing financial, social, cultural and emotional barriers.
