Autumn can be an ideal time for a great getaway, with the heat of summer almost gone and the chill of winter still distant. By taking a few easy steps, you can make a fall escape more affordable than you might expect. Timing is important. Anytime after Labor Day and excluding Thanksgiving should be great for finding lower prices and fewer crowds during your travels. Going during the week rather than weekends will normally save as well. Bad traffic is a quick way to bring aggression to any road trip. It is good to leave early in the morning. Pack a good mixed c.d. and start your trip in a happy mood. Stopping for breakfast is also a good plan to start off you day;if you have an empty stomach chances are you will not have a great attitude.
Avoid the hot spots. While autumn is usually more low key than summer and the Christmas holidays for traveling, some places are very popular and thus typically more expensive. You should not just pick the place you hear the most about. If you are hearing alot about it there will be alot of people and will be the opposite of a nice getaway. Unique spots are normally the most enjoyable. Do not spend all your time being worried about which place is right;when you see the right place you will know it. Additionally, sites are usually quieter and sometimes cheaper than in summer.
