Abstract
This study proposes a stereoscopic suspension image system which applies on mobile phones or tablet computers and presents stereoscopic images with multi-angle view. The effect of stereoscopic projection is achieved through the protocol system constructed with optical design and calculation.
1. Introduction
With the advance of life quality, the technology of display unit has been ever-improving. Starting form earlier monochrome TV, color TV to the ones which are much thinner and with high definition or the planar ones, each of them presents people’s pursuit of the image quality which is more natural as well as vivid. To fulfill the requirement of more realistic images, display technology has been developed from planar to stereoscopic images. In additional to offering images with high resolution and color quality, the technology focuses also on the vision in stereo spaces. The techniques of stereoscopic display could be approximately categorized as stereoscopic display and auto-stereoscopic display. Since the former one takes a pair of glasses, which makes the usage not very convenient and comfortable, auto-stereoscopic display is bound to be the trend. During last few decades, various auto-stereoscopic display techniques have been proposed [1] [2]. They enable the users to see stereoscope images without wearing glasses. To popularize stereoscopic display, the function itself becomes built-in whether in mobile phones or in tablet computers. However, present techniques are limited by the problem of view angle and could not achieve the purpose of full vision. Therefore, this study proposes a stereoscopic suspension image system to present stereoscopic images with multi-angle view. A simple optical system is designed with the...
