Daniel Perera “Ignorance is Bliss” or “Knowledge is Power” Power or bliss? Ignorance or Knowledge? Although power is a treasure, bliss is heavenly. Being blissfully ignorant can be one of the greatest gifts to have. You are always and truly happy, you have no or little troubles, and you do not stumble upon things you rather not know. When you are unaware of things, you block out a lot of the bad and evil of the world. This makes you all the more happier. The poison does not seep into your mind and corrupt the bliss. You are happy, the only things you really care about ishaving fun. Take people with mental retardation for example, they only understand simplistic things there fore are forced to be ignorant. They are, for the most part, always happy. They do not need to know about wars, killings, tortures, they just play they play in bliss. When you are ignorant you have less responsibilities, less troubles. You do not stress, stay up all night, worry. You just live your life happily and to the fullest. That is what we all want. Just like the dog whoeats, sleeps, plays, and defecates, that is how we should live our lives. Not having to stress, not having anything to do, just being alive. Some see the saying “it’s a dogs life” in a negative way, I see it in a positive one. Finally having knowledge and power is tempting but like everything else that tempts you, it is bad. When you have knowledge Itcan be great. You can help the world, even yourself but you just won’t know good things, thebad things poison your mind as well. I used to believe that having a lot of knowledge would make me a better person but I have had many nights that the evil of the world kept me up. I would learn about torture killings, genocide and it changed my life. Knowledge also makes you greed more. You think that the moreknowledge you have the more power you will obtain. You will keep obtaining power, good and bad, until the bad over powers the good and your brain and you just can’t take...
