The United States of America has many problems, but one of the most widely understood and most controversial topics is illegal immigration. The major problem with it is there are two views that are seen with this. A lot of people argue that illegal immigration is causing overcrowding in the U.S., and that immigrants are causing trouble. Another view is the complete opposite. Many people believe these immigrants, whether illegal or not, are taking jobs that American citizens aren’t willing to take, thus strengthening our economy and keeping the U.S. in the world trade business. Although there are downfalls to illegal immigration, everyone must see that it has its positive affects for all of the citizens in this country. The articles titled “Illegal Immigration” and “Ironies of Illegal Immigration” give a fair amount of information concerning the main way that illegal immigrants contribute to the health of the United States economy.
In “Ironies of Illegal Immigration,” the author Llewellyn D Howell goes over the details concerning the immigrants. The article starts off with George W. Bush’s proposal concerning immigration. Illegal immigrants don’t have any insurance policies or even educational support. And with how the economy is, immigrants are needed and that would soon become an issue if the U.S. plans on keeping a strong economy. The United States has always survived and grew with immigrants coming in whether they are legal or not. At first the immigrants were unwanted, but with how well the economy has grew due to the immigrants, they are needed and their presence has become necessary. The main point to be made is that Americans are not willing to work extremely hard for a low pay rate. Manual labor cannot be left out. It is used everywhere and doesn’t pay much and immigrants are always willing to fill these roles because they know have to take the first chance they get and work to achieve the dream they want...
