A good heart is not enough for good economics. There is to many instances in the history of the United States where people mix the ideas of rationality and personal morals. This confusion causes decisions that are not based on a factual basis but rather on a set of values of a person or group. This prevents us from actually finding views that are worthy of our respect. When people are unable to differentiate between rationality and other views people, mutual agreements are impossible. The issue of illegal immigration is an issue that touches on this sort of though because though people argue the issue over what they feel is right of wrong, it is not the best way to view the issue for the nation. People need to set their opinions to the side and analyze issues in a way that is more objective to the state of the nation rather than their own personal values.
Illegal immigration is something that has the ability to cause a huge amount of detriment to current American society. According to the Colorado Alliance for Immigration Reform or CAIR there are about 10,000 illegal immigrants crossing the boarder everyday with about 3,500 becoming permanent residents. These people as CAIR has researched cause a net annual cost of somewhere between 67 through 87 billion dollars. Clearly this issue creates quite an impact on our nation today but as time goes on will only grow bigger and bigger. The only question is; when will people realize it is out of control and decide it stop it?
People often overlook the many downfalls of illegal immigration and argue their own personal values. Though some say that everyone deserves medical attention if they need it, there is a huge tool that illegal immigrants create on our medical industry.
