The Truth About Technology When it comes to sense of direction, one has to be careful about what technology they are trusting. Navigation systems play a huge role in the way people travel. Nevertheless, problems may occur in this technological discovery. When traveling out of town, some families have certain roads they like to avoid. With a navigation system, it calculates the fastest route available and sometimes only directs down one certain way. This can be an inconvenience because it puts people at risk of becoming even more lost. People also have a sense of stress while using a navigation system because the directions are not always understandable. The system may say, for instance, to turn at the next left while no open road appears on the left. This may possibly bring about stress to the driver and cause a hazardous drive. This may be a defective source of technology to become familiarized with while traveling. Another source of unsafe driving is the useof cell phones. As the world becomes more habituated with cell phones, the more of a nuisance people are to society. Everyday, millions of people send text messages, e-mails, and make important business calls all while driving. This takes them away from what is happening on the road, and puts them almost in a world of their own. People are less likely to stop at red lights and stop signs and as a result causing precarious actionsto take place. Many wrecks could be prevented if cell phones were not utilized in the vehicle. Even though technological advances were intentionally created to improve the way people went about doing things, one may be able to tell how they truthfully interfere with daily duties. Not all advances are for the worst, however, it would be better if people would take into consideration the way they go about using new, modern devices.
