Implementing Wap for Package and Delivery Company

WAP or Wireless Application Protocol is a standard for communications for handheld devices, such as cell phones and PDAs. WAP allows for internet access on these devices and also provides formatting necessary for web pages and web applications for the device. Uses for WAP include e-mail, Web browsers, web applications and internet downloads.
Because of the near universal adoption for WAP with most cell phones and PDAs, Many exciting uses for WAP in a business environment have emerged. WAP can allow employees to receive company e-mails while on-site. WAP can also use web applications for company databases.
Package and Delivery Company could benefit greatly from using WAP in their workplace. Drivers and bikers could receive e-mails while out on delivery. This capability would allow the delivery staff to check the destination of a package or send e-mails to notify the office if any complications occur. Delivery personnel could also find schedules so they might perform pick-ups after making deliveries in the area. The potential usefulness of WAP is outstanding, however, with the implementation of a Web-database alongside WAP could revolutionize the way Package and Delivery Company does business.
A Web based database could allow delivery personnel to update the database real-time with deliveries and pickups. This would allow the office to track the location of packages at all times. The company could then open up the database, allowing customers to track their packages in real-time and place orders for pickups.
With the successful implementation of a WAP system could allow Package and Delivery Company to be more efficient, cost effective and deliver packages faster. I would highly recommend that Package and Delivery Company use WAP and a web database.
