Importance of respect and lawful orders

In this essay on the importance of respect and lawful orders. I will explain why it is very important to be respectful and to follow such lawful orders given. In order to successfully accomplish the basic soldiering of every day, you need to follow orders and be respectful. The army has set rules and policy’s explaining what is expected from soldiers to accomplish the mission. The mission is the big picture for the army and military services. You have to follow orders into the battle field and execute orders given from Commissioned officers and Non- commissioned officers alike. Such orders include mission details, home life orders and basic soldiering orders. Mission oriented orders pertain to what needs to happen for select operations in the battle field and on home ground. As for home life order’s this is the type of order that comes home with you. You have to follow such orders on how to pay bills, keep cleanliness and accountability of yourself. Now as for basic soldiering orders you have to follow the soldier’s creed, the army values and motivation to be a part of a team.
Article 92 deals with the failure to follow orders or regulations and violation of orders/ regulations. Different situations are covered under Article 92 as follows: violating general order or regulation, violating other written regulation or order, failure to obey lawful order and dereliction of duty.

There are several variations of the charge of Article 92, violation of the UCMJ. These changes require slightly different elements of each charge to prove and are discussed as follows:

a) Violating general order or regulation

Elements:
That a lawful general of order or regulation existed .
That the accused was duty bound to obey this regulation or order .
That the accused disobeyed or violated this order/ regulation by an act, behavior or alleged intent.
