NTRODUCTION
Impotence also known as erectile dysfunction is a sexual disorder that affects approximately 52% of the global male population. According to the text Mosby’s textbook for Nursing Assistant the fifth edition, 2000, by Sheila A. Sorrention, Erectile dysfunction is the inability to achieve or maintain an erection to perform sufficient intercourse or ejaculation. The theme of this portfolio is Impotence with emphasis on low self esteem as a factor. The purpose of this portfolio is to inform readers of the myths and facts associated with the theme.
This portfolio consists of an exposition that which will be presented orally. The exposition discusses the researcher findings, the issues and challenges faced as well as the effect of the source, content and medium, based on their validity and reliability The portfolio also contains a preface which gives an over view of the selected reflective piece. The piece is written in the form of a narrative which is based on the theme the researcher. The reflective piece will be analyzed based on the dialectal variations and attitudes to language displayed by the characters.
The researcher has several reasons for selecting this theme. Firstly the researcher is an active member of the schools science club and hopes uncover the scientific facts to help in developing awareness among fellow club and school mates. The researcher work related interest in the topic is based to hopes to venture into the field of medicine, specifically sexual health as this research would be of great advancement to the researcher medical knowledge. The researcher is personally interested in this theme to satisfy numerous curiosities caused by the great level of low self esteem displayed by lower class males in surroundings and also because the researcher is categorized in the group which is likely to be affected.
