Abstract
When you watch a football game notice how a football team changes when the clock ticks down to the two minute warning. Team dynamics change with the addition of the hurry up offense, no huddle play calling, and coaches that go for it on fourth down. Football teams are not the only groups that can function in two minute warning mode. Some Teams in the workplace function with all four cylinders clicking when others seem to rack up penalties, miscues on play calls, and can’t make a first down. Each member of a team plays a key role in the over all performance of the group as a whole. Analysis of individual personality traits, listening skills, and level of trust of each team member can be the difference of success or failure.

Improving Team Performance with Team Charter

One of the key concepts of functioning as a team is understanding how each team member’s personality traits can hinder or promote success. Communication allows the team members to discuss their strengths and weaknesses and how they can affect team performance. Recognizing a weakness enables the team as a whole to offset weaknesses through effective conflict resolution. Even if the team understands the goals and direction of the team, getting them to set aside their differences and commit may be more difficult (Bowen, 2010).
Team Differences
Our team discussed our differences and what we can do to overcome our differences to achieve success. My first team mate has indicated her listening assessment score was 45 (Robbins, 2007). This score indicates my teammate is not a bad listener but could improve. Her tendency is to pick specific things out of what a person says and missing other key points.
