In Just One Day:
There I was sitting at my desk, while the vivid sun was shining in my eyes on that hot summer day. I was trying to pay attention to Mr. Colin’s monotonous history lecture. I was wondering to myself why I woke up that morning in a pool of sweat and feeling like I was on fire. I felt frightened because I’d never felt that way before. At that moment Mr. Colin broke my train of thought, asking me to pay attention. I complied until feeling that my lips were dryer than crisp leafs in fall. I reached in my back pocket for some chap stick and a small mirror. I looked in the mirror, staring at my colorless face, with dark rings around my eyes. Dropping my chap stick in shock, I noticed a razor-sharp pain in my side. It felt like someone was driving a nail through my gut. A medical emergency would be something that would change my view on life.
I kept telling myself; “Just six more hours until school gets out.” The pain just kept getting worse, and people started asking me if I felt well. At that point my vision blurred and I fell to the ground like a limp peace of bacon, smacking my head against the hard tilled floor. I could hear shuffling of chairs and feet around me, as the teacher and some friends of mine spoke to me. I could barely hear them over the sharp pitched ringing in my ears. It was as if I were in a day dream that I couldn’t snap out of. I noticed some slight pressure on my arm and behind my legs, suddenly realizing Texas by boyfriend was caring me quickly to the nurse’s room. I could tell he was in a panic by feeling his breath on my face, and almost falling over his own feet. Texas laid me gently down on the nurse’s cold hard bed; promising me he would stay with me. Miss. Becker the nurse called my parents, thinking I was dehydrated with the flu. Within ten minutes my Mom had arrived, and Texas helped me into the car. Right when I heard the seatbelt click in the lock position; I passed out not knowing what to expect. I slowly woken...
