Poetry is something that has always fascinated me. I have been reading poetry for as long as I can remember. Over the past few years I have noticed a dramatic increase in poetry. I chose to read the article “Listening To Poetry” because it is something that has always interested me. I love reading things that take you away from your everyday monotonous life. I love entering someone else’s world for a minute and feeling what they felt. The most amazing things to me about poetry is that it can be interpreted in so many different ways. There are so many times I have read something and drawn up my own conclusion on it, and then realized that the meaning was actually the complete opposite from the writer’s standpoint. It is amazing how similar poetry and artwork are. You can look at or read something and interpret it one way, and someone else comes along with another brilliant explanation.

I cannot tell you the last time I heard someone talk about a poetry reading. Do they exist anymore? It is interesting to me that things like this are so rare to find nowadays but in history they were so common. I would love to go to a poetry reading. I feel like poetrt is the kind of thing that needs to be raed outloud to experience the full effect.
The article I read goes on to say that poetry readings are ancient traditions.
