When I heard I had to write an essay on “In the hands of God”. I thought “what am I going to write?” Then I thought about it. I thought about how I hear this topic every Sunday in church and how it’s so easy.
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering the waters. Genesis 1: 1-2
In these verses the beginning of creation occurs in the hand of God. Though the world was dark and formless He continued to make light and nature and animals and even all people, in this room and those who are on the other side of the world, each of them, each of us all very special. Though we sin and fall short He will always love us.
But Thomas said to them, ”Unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe it.” John 20:25
This verse talks about the holes in His hand and side from when He was crucified for us, as sinners. Because we as sinful people cannot be perfect or always keep to the Ten Commandments sent to us by God himself on the mountain, Jesus had to be the pure and spotless lamb to be our ultimate sacrifice. He has done this all for us so we may go to heaven!
Then Jesus said to them,”All authority in heaven has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, Mathew 28:18-19
Jesus said to us to go and spread His word and bring them to the house of God. We also should encourage people to get baptized or baptize their babies. We also should always be looking for a chance to set a good example or share the Word of God.
Yet I am always with you; you hold me by my right hand. You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will take me into glory. Psalm 73:23-24
God holds us in His hands daily. He will catch us when we fall and love us...
