President Barack Obama’s Inauguration Speech Essay
As history progressed, a lot of change has been made. On the date of January 20, 2009, the greatest change in history has been made. On this day, we finally acquired a black president to control the United States of America. This is a very dramatic moment for most people and it will be remembered forever. During the ceremony of President Barack Hussein Obama II, he vowed to serve, protect, and defend the United States of America. He also gave an amazing speech in which several points were spoken. Within his speech, Obama repeated key phrases, made allusions to previous history, made predictions, created priorities, made plans, and most of all, he stated the requirements of the people and what we can do to make the United States a better place.
As stated before, there were several key phrases brought out in his speech. Although they are all great, the most important phrase spoken is “Our Nation.” This was often repeated in his speech. Everyone knows that Obama is a very inspirational speaker. He always says the right words and most of all he is a man of his words. In saying this phrase, Obama is inferring that we are all one. He is also stating that we need to work together as a nation in order to make the United States a better place. Obama is the president of the United States, however, in stating this phrase repeatedly, he is saying that it is not just his job to make up for loses. It is a team effort in restoring the country back to normal.
The president is a man of great knowledge. In showing this knowledge, during his speech he referred to certain historical illusions. These were not just any historical events, but they were events in which people had fought for our great country and for several people who had died fighting for our country.
