India Must Be a Willing Signatory of the Nuclear Deal

The strongest and most relevant argument in favour of the nuclear deal is the amount of enegy of the power generated through nuclear energy.
Day by day year by year our energy requirements are going up and fuel prices are spiraling.
The parties shouting themselves hoarse about giving away India ’s sovereignty need to question the very basis of their argument, as No attempt has been made to strengthen India ’s independence in energy generation finding viable altenatives.
Whereas Countries like Brazil are fairly independent by using ethanol for their energy resources.
Why nuclear power? .It is less expensive and less polluting than oil, less cumbersome than solar cells or windmills, and less expensive to setup than mega hydroprojects Also requiring miniscule amount of raw materials for recurring source of energy production. France gets over 75% of its electricity from nuclear energy and is the world's largest net exporter of electricity gaining over 3 billion Euros annually.
Wheras What a difference from us having perpetual energy deficit, & energy being our major expenditure- with 70% of it coming from burning coal gaining only in emission of greenhouse gases!
Currently only 3% of our power is nuclear, why?
Because of 34 years of nuclear apartheid , forced on us following
Pokharan 1974. when the world reacts with nuclear sanctions 0n us,as thay feared why?
Concern that we would divert civil supplies to covertly amass nuclear weaponry. Hence also the pressure to make us sign the nuclear non-proliferation treaty or NPT which we have resisted till date to retain our rights to nuclear testing as a deterent for our delicate borders.

Solution? The nuclear deal being proposed is courtesy our good track record over the years as a responsible nuclear state.
