1. As an undergraduate at Liberty University I have had to work with other students numerous times to complete projects as well as presentations. I can remember having to put together a 16 slide PowerPoint presentation with another student over a holiday break without having any form of communication besides email. Playing basketball in both high school and college has taught me the importance of team work and coming together to accomplish one goal. I have a real calm demeanor but I enjoy interacting with other people. I would say one of my pet peeves is when people say one thing and do the other. When I’m under stress I either work harder to get the work done or find a leisure activity to take my mind off of things and refresh myself. My boss would describe me as someone who is detail-oriented and effective when working under pressure.
2. It would be acceptable for me if group members respond to each other in no more than 4 hours so communication can be fluid. I also understand that many work full-time and have a family to take care of, so there can be a little bit of flexibility. I believe each team member should check the group Discussion Board at least 5 times per week or more if need be. Conference calls or online chats offers group members an opportunity to have another form of communication and can help keep everyone on the same page. Group Discussion Boards, online chats, etc. can be used for the exchange of ideas for an assignment, paper, or project.
3. For a project to be completed each member of the group must be free to share their ideas as well as concerns, and everyone must also be willingly to behave in a professional manner. Confrontational behavior or negligence can threaten the project’s completion. I want each person to feel like they gave their best effort and did all they could do. My conflict resolution style includes allowing both sides to state their point of view, and then come to a mutual understanding that works best for everyone.
