I have done some silly and stupid things in my life but the most stupid thing I can really reflect on is the day that I got charged by the police. Getting charged wasn’t the worst part it was not telling my mother and leaving her to find out about it herself months later.

I was in Millport for a festival called country and western. I hadn’t been drinking much but I did feel a little tipsy. I remember standing on a raised lawn at the top of a wall talking to my friend Tom. I was all happy and chuffed with the good fun that we were having all evening. This all very quickly changed when some guy asked me to pass down his lucazade bottle filled with some sort of alcohol .At the time I didn’t know what was in the bottle so I turned to face his direction and chucked the bottle down to him. His face looked terribly shocked and all I could hear him chant was “shit, shit, shit, shit”. I saw a flash light shine through my legs and a voice bellow behind me “son pick that up “I turned around horrified to see the police behind me. “Whats in the bottle !” came from a tall black silowet in uniform “ son I advise that you co-operate “ then came almost immediately after in a woman’s voice from the smaller silowet not allowing me time to even answer. I replied with a simple genuine answer of “I don’t know.” “Son don’t lie to me. What’s in the bottle! “The man’s tone of voice was becoming more aggressive.” Trying to sound as genuine as possible I replied “I seriously don’t know it’s not mine “. The female then said “look son if you fail to co operate I will arrest you “. I remember standing there not known what to do. They way they both kept on calling me son was annoying the hell out of me and the fact they insisted that I was lying made me just want to poke them in the eye. I was in an extreme dilemma either to just tell the truth which was I don’t know what was in the bottle and tell them that it really wasn’t mine or lie n tell them it is mine and I’m terribly sorry...
