It is true that travelling abroad becomes more and more popular with the living standard being higher and the prosperity of the international tourism. Athough some people believe that it puts a strain on local residents and travellers, I would content that it is a mind- broadening experience.
To begin with, international travelling is concerned to lead to tensions among local citizens and travellers. This can be seen in language barriers creating difficulty in communication and cultural differences. That sometimes aggravates misunderstanding when visitors have several behaviours offending or violating indigenous people’s values, religions because of the contrast in lifestyle, culture and every aspect of lives in different countries. Another justification is that some places in tourist area repaired or built for bussiness causes negative effects to historical values and loses visitors’s sympathy for the host country.
On the other hand, I would claim that visiting many countries makes it possible to extend knowledge. When people go to the foreign country, it is an opportunity for them to interact with the native people, discover different religions, customs and the friendliness of the locals. This, as a result, increases their experience about the roots of local cultures, new languages. Moreover, leaving the familiar surroundings of home, stay in a strange place and observe many new things, travellers may have a different outlook on life, meaning that they can learn how to be independence to adapt to new environment, solve many problems with patience and determination,even become more grateful for the things you left behind. Therefore, gaining the precious knowledge from foreign countries is rather obvious.
