Have you ever heard a person dying of using internet ? It seems impossible but in fact, in 2011 a man in China had a stroke after sitting three days in front of his computer to chat, watch online films and play games in internet without resting. As the result of investigation, he got a kind of psychological disease called internet addiction syndrome and he could not control himself and always desired to use internet even though he spent hourly with it. Recently several extensive discussions have been held to figure out negative affections of internet addiction for adult. Many well-know leading psychologists have come to agreement on three main effects that are the decline of health, unemployment and broken family.
Firstly, internet addiction can harm one’s physical and mental health. As an addict is always on his chair day by day, he often gets a serious pain in his back and neck. Completely forgetting to eat drink and rest for a long time makes him get terrible stomachache, grave asthenic body and heavy myopic eyes. Moreover, he can get a sudden heart attack easily, because he usually stays up late every night. Besides, addicts also has abnormal psychological symptoms like irritation, aggression, and mad which caused by obsession of unreal image. For instance, some people attack the others unreasonably because in their thought, they are heroes fighting with monsters in internet games. According to reliable statistic of international internet addict research institute, over 5000 addicts die of stroke and heart attack , and nearly 60.000 others have mental illness in 2010.
Secondly, internet addiction can make an adult lose his job. In fact, internet is so fascinating that addicts spend almost his time with it. Therefore, they cannot have enough time as well as health to focus and finish their assignment. As the result of this, they are fired soon.
