Internet Pornography and It’s Effects

Abstract
Because people are getting numb to the world around them. You can find pornographic magazines, DVDs, and Web sites everywhere. When we think of this problem, we are probably thinking that this is a secular problem and not that of a Christian. This is not the case. Since the introduction of pornography it has pulled in many Christians and has had its impacted all of us in three destructive ways: it has created a form of dependency that causes the individual to become weakened; it interferes with the “one-flesh” union that causes  marriages to be disrupted ; and it distorts the thinking of those involved. In Matthew 6:23-23, it says, “The light of the body is they eye: if therefore your eye be single, the whole body shall be full of light. But if your eye be evil, then the whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in us be darkness, how great is that darkness”







Pornography has been felt in a greater level than it was back in the 1980’s. With the advances in cable television, magazine sales and the internet it is easily available for viewing wherever you are. With the latest statistics on porn usage, it’s no wonder why we are having such a problem with pornography and its effects on our society. It was estimated that in January 2012, 27.5 million people accessed an internet pornographic Web site. In 2012 it was estimated that $220 Million was spent on pornographic sites according to an Internet Research Company. That same company stated that in 2014 the estimated amount of spending will be over $320 Million annually. When Focus on the Family created a poll, they found that out of 1,031 adults surveyed, 40% of the respondents stated that they have been to a pornographic site.
