Intervention in Darfur America has wasted too much time in Iraq when there is a real problem going on in Darfur. These people have been crying out for help, and the citizens of America have been trying for so long to get our government to hear the victims in Darfur. Finally, the word is out and more and more people are helping and pushing government officials to sign bills, divesting in Darfur. These are all small, but important steps to dealing with the genocide in Darfur; even recognizing that it is genocide is a huge step toward stopping the Sudanese government from committing more atrocities. However, more must be done by our country, and other countries, and a useless waste of time. They do not seem to understand the importance of this Genocide will stop in Darfur. The United Nations must get involved in the country by sending in peacekeepers, and military forces. China must cut off their support for Sudan; they are only fueling the fire. This must also be done in no more than a year to a year and a half. The United Nations should send peacekeepers to Darfur, to watch over the this would be unsafe for the peacekeeping troops. What they do not understand is that the people who are peacekeepers are doing their job because they want to. Every job has its risks, but someone has to do it. It would be a non-threatening way to assert that these people are safe in their own country. It would also help us build Lambert 2 a relationship with the people and, from there, we can ease our way into the situation. This process should only take about six months. The military should come in later, not to fight if not necessary, but to take into custody anyone who is suspect of involvement in the genocide. This will further prevent more deaths of innocent people. Another huge leap toward peace would be if China would withdraw their support from Sudan.
