*Tell me about yourself.
I have worked in the critical care setting for three years. Currently I work in the Burn unit and my position has evolved from staff to RSL to helping with health fairs and P/outreach projects over my two year span here. In my previous job I worked as a staff nurse in a twelve bed rural medical ICU for eleven months before coming to Vanderbilt. While I really enjoy my current job at the bedside as a nurse, I’d love the opportunity to grow and rise to the challenge that this position offers

*What do you like about this position?
Both performance improvement and outreach education are passions of mine. I am really interested in the unique opportunity that this positions offers to help further the burn unit from a different angle of the bedside nurse and still be able to work with the team I love and bringing in both of those passions. I have seen many changes within and around the unit in my two years here and I feel like this position will offer me a chance to be on the forefront as we make the transition to become ABA certified and continue to grow. I also like the aspect of being challenged to find the performance improvement triggers and help create nurse driven programs to help improve patient outcomes.

*What are some of your strengths?
While I am a very hard worker and reliable, I believe that my interpersonal and communication skills are some of my strongest strengths. I have an excellent report with my peers and mangers as well as other members of the care team. I try to always remain helpful and willing to assist in anyway needed. I also strive to maintain an excellent working relationship with my peers. My current evaluations show that my peers hold me in high regard and appreciate my willingness to help and teach. They also reflect that my team believes I am an effective leader and they trust in my judgment.
