The internet has become widely acknowledged as a key medium for communicating business and financial information, principally through the investor relations sections of corporate websites. Investors, analysts and others have become accustomed to using these sites to obtain the information they need. The internet represents an opportunity to provide layers of increasingly detailed information on the company’s operations, financial performance and the industry as a whole, enabling investors to search for and obtain the information they need for their particular purposes. It also offers an opportunity for companies to use technologies effectively in disclosing information. This activity provides the foundation that ensures information is organized and presented in such a way that users can easily navigate the site, and find and use the information they need for a particular purpose.
